Volleyball Recap: Salem Quakers vs. East Liverpool Potters

Salem unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the East Liverpool Potters on Saturday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-19, 25-17.

Abigail Knickerbocker paced Salem's offense, picking up 11 kills. Knickerbocker got some help from Macey Troy and her 22 assists. Knickerbocker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Ayla Riggle was the offensive standout of the game as she had 12 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave her a new career-high.

Salem wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Ursuline on the 21st. As for East Liverpool, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Crestview on the 20th.
