Softball Recap: Granger Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bartlett on Monday, Granger came back down to earth. The Granger Lions fell just short of the Thorndale Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Izzy Tavernier and Abi Crouch stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tavernier scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Crouch scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylinn Hamby, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Granger's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5-1. As for Thorndale, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coincidentally, Granger and Thorndale will both be playing Bremond the next time they take the field. Granger will host Bremond at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th, while Thorndale will host them at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
