Soccer Recap: Tavares Takes a Loss

Tavares was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Tavares can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 527th, while Mount Dora Christian Academy is ranked 249th).

Tavares' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tavares will venture away from home to take on Mount Dora at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Dora Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Out-of-Door Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
