Baseball Recap: Make It 13 in a Row for St. Elizabeth

St. Elizabeth had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Calvary Lutheran Lions with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Hornets have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Noah Chipman was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brady Kemna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

St. Elizabeth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

St. Elizabeth's record is now 20-7. As for Calvary Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

St. Elizabeth has already played their next contest, a 5-0 victory against New Haven on the 21st. Calvary Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
