Volleyball Recap: Tustin Comes Up Short

Tustin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Diamond Bar Brahmas. The Tillers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Brahmas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.

Tustin was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Leading Diamond Bar to victory were Ava Furumoto and Brooke Lam. Furumoto had four digs and four aces, while Lam had seven digs and three aces. Those four aces gave Furumoto a new career-high.

Tustin's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Diamond Bar, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Tustin will square off against Valencia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Tillers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Diamond Bar, they will challenge Los Altos at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
