Volleyball Recap: Hawthorne Hornets vs. Bronson Eagles
Hawthorne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Bronson Eagles. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.
While Hawthorne was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-16.
Makenzie Swilley paced Hawthorne's offense, picking up six kills. Swilley got some help from Lindsay Stevens and her four assists. Rylee Triplett controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bronson, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.
Coming up, Hawthorne will host Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Bronson and Wildwood will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
