Recap: Buckeye Local Panthers vs. Shenandoah Zeps
The Buckeye Local Panthers were the 39-31 winner over the Shenandoah Zeps when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Buckeye Local took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shenandoah on Monday. Buckeye Local has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Buckeye Local's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brynn McKeever, who scored 22 points, and Pamela Kandrach who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 41.5% of Buckeye Local's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Shenandoah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brylee May out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. May is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Kadence Noll was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Buckeye Local's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Shenandoah, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye Local will take on Bellaire at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buckeye Local is coming into the contest with four straight defeats at home, meaning Bellaire will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Shenandoah will take on Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Shenandoah focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
