Volleyball Recap: Clay's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of seven wins, Clay's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Notre Dame Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 25-17.

Laney Shepherd paced Clay's offense, picking up 13 kills. Shepherd got some help from Addie Willis and her 24 assists. Finally, Shepherd was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Notre Dame found their leader in sophomore Bella Rush, who had 11 digs.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Notre Dame, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Looking ahead, Clay will take on Minford at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame, they will challenge Green at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
