Bowen struck out 12 in a 17-0 five-inning win over Clairton in his previous start, which was also a perfect game.
According to Triblive.com, the two perfect games are the only ones in school history. Bowen also joins three other pitchers who have thrown back-to-back perfect games.
Coby Weaver of Hallsville (Texas) accomplished the feat last year and finished the season with a national record of three perfect games in a season.
Mike Bradley of Fort Bragg (Calif.) was the first to pitch consecutive perfect games, turning the trick in 1991. Anthony Velasquez of Bayside (N.Y.) tied the record in 2006, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations Record Book.
Bowen could break the record with a third-straight perfect game this week. According to Serra Catholic coach Brian Dzurenda, Bowen could pitch on Wednesday at home against Apollo Ridge.
