Volleyball Recap: St. Henry Takes a Loss

St. Henry was the 2-0 winner over Newark Catholic when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Redskins fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

St. Henry might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Newark Catholic: every set was decided by two points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-23.

Karlee Buschur paced St. Henry's offense, picking up 11 kills. Buschur got some help from Addy Homan and her 28 assists. Morgan Baumer controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Newark Catholic, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

St. Henry has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Franklin Monroe on the 2nd. As for Newark Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Shawnee on the 30th.
