Softball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Center Christian Tiger.

Makenna Jones stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with two triples and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexandria Hudak, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Windham's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lake Center Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Windham will challenge Mathews at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Bombers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lake Center Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 12-6 victory against East Palestine on the 14th.
