Volleyball Recap: Knoxville Central's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of six wins, Knoxville Central's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Seymour Eagles by a score of 2-1. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-16 in the first set.

Knoxville Central actually scored more points across those three sets (70-67), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 26-24, 25-21.

Ally Bryant paced Knoxville Central's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bryant were helped by Jolie Sheddan and Pyper Clevinger, who contributed ten assists each. Finally, Malia Moore kept Knoxville Central's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Seymour found their leader in sophomore Isabella Hylan, who had 22 digs and one assist.

Knoxville Central suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 9-2. As for Seymour, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Knoxville Central has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Halls on the 9th. As for Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Austin-East on the 9th.
