Volleyball Recap: Lebanon Warriors vs. Loveland Tigers
After flying high against West Clermont on Thursday, Lebanon came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Loveland Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.
Lebanon took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 21-25, 27-25, 15-13.
Ava Long paced Lebanon's offense, picking up 33 kills. Long got some help from Mandy Ludwick and her 41 assists. Madison Kyle controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Loveland found their leader in sophomore Ella George, who had 39 digs and five assists. Those 39 digs set a new season-high mark for George. MaKenna Kirlin was another key player, hitting 55% for 11 kills and 20 digs and one block.
Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Loveland, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Lebanon has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Walnut Hills on the 30th. As for Loveland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Kings on the 30th.
