Basketball Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Takes a Loss

Ansley/Litchfield lost against Fullerton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 76-36. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Warriors since Friday.

Despite the loss, Ansley/Litchfield still got an impressive performance from Landon Schulte, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 21 points. Cooper Fletcher also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Kane Wetovick produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds for Fullerton. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wetovick has scored at least a third of the Warriors' points. Terrick Gonsior was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

Ansley/Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fullerton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Ansley/Litchfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-31 loss against Elm Creek on the 13th. Fullerton will take on Archangels Catholic in a holiday battle on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Defenders have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
