Baseball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-3 to the Central Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 on Wednesday.

Auburn got a good showing from Knox Chambliss, who pitched three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Chambliss also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Tigers are 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-11 otherwise.

At the plate, JB Upton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Central, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-7.

While Auburn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
