Durham Academy hasn't had much luck against North Raleigh Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Durham Academy is headed away from home for the first time to take on North Raleigh Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Durham Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on March 6th. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Durham School of the Arts.

Stella Teis made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cassie Stallone, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Matelon Barber was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Durham Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham School of the Arts only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Ravens as they made off with an 18-3 victory.
Cora Harmsen was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Knox, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's record is now 3-4. As for Durham Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Durham Academy suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to North Raleigh Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Durham Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
