Baseball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. Glenbard West Hilltoppers

For the second straight game, Lyons will face off against Glenbard West. The Lions will head out to square off against the Hilltoppers at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Glenbard West's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lyons' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Glenbard West. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lyons got a great performance from Jack Slightom as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Slightom a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lou Ratcliffe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Blake Ragsdale was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Lyons and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games.
