Preview: Ray Bearcats vs. BASIS Phoenix Firebirds
The Ray Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Ray is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Ray suffered their biggest loss since December 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-31 walloping at the hands of Globe.
Malena Goad was Ray's leading scorer, having posted 12 points.
Makayla Barajas held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Meanwhile, BASIS Phoenix unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. Their rough 48-27 loss to Glendale Prep Academy might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points BASIS Phoenix has scored all season.
Ray has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for BASIS Phoenix, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
