The Waltrip Rams will square off against the Galena Park Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Galena Park will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Waltrip extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Rams breezed past Sharpstown to the tune of 49-20. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.

Waltrip's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyon Gamble, who rushed for 72 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Gamble a new career-high. James 'Jimmy' Haren was another key player, rushing for 24 yards and one touchdown.
Waltrip didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Henry and Keshuan Palmer. Waltrip received some extra help from Antonio Adame, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Galena Park got the win against Spring Woods on Thursday by a conclusive 34-14.
Waltrip better keep an eye on Cary Clay. He was instrumental in Galena Park's win, rushing for 229 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 14.3 yards per carry. Clay's longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Combs, who threw for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Galena Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 291 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Waltrip's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Galena Park, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Waltrip has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Galena Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 287.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Waltrip strolled past Galena Park in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 42-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Clay, who rushed for 175 yards and three scores while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Rams still be able to contain Clay? There's only one way to find out.
