Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Cleveland's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Cleveland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Maryville Red Rebels by a score of 2-1. The Blue Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Rebels earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Cleveland sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 11-25, 15-13.

Gunny Brock paced Cleveland's offense, picking up 11 kills. Brock got some help from Ana Carden and her seven assists.

Cleveland now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Maryville, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Cleveland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Walker Valley on the 28th. As for Maryville, they will square off against Baylor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
