Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Takes a Loss

Cornerstone Charter lost against Bishop McGuinness back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cornerstone Charter Cardinals took a blow against the Bishop McGuinness Villains, falling 61-22. The matchup marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Charter lost, don't look at Spencer Knight. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 7 on his way to 12 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Smith, who posted two points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Cornerstone Charter and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Charter will welcome Triad Math and Science Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Charter is facing Triad Math and Science Academy at the right time seeing as Triad Math and Science Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will host Winston-Salem Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bishop McGuinness' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
