Softball Preview: WestSide Renegades vs. Independence Patriots
WestSide is 1-9 against Independence since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The WestSide Renegades will be staying on the road to face off against the Independence Patriots at 5:30 p.m.
On Thursday, WestSide fell victim to a tough 11-5 defeat at the hands of Liberty.
Meanwhile, Independence put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Wahama as Independence made off with a 10-2 victory.
Emma Simpson was incredible, going 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and a run. Kassidy Bradbury was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
WestSide's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Independence, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
WestSide suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Independence in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can WestSide avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
