Soccer Game Preview: Palo Verde vs. Coronado

Palo Verde is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They beat Las Vegas by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, Coronado faced Faith Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 8-1 victory. Fans of Coronado have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit Faith Lutheran with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Flickinger (4), Jace Self (2), Aiden Sena, and Dylan Flores.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 22-0. As for Palo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3-3.

Palo Verde might still be hurting after the 7-2 loss they got from Coronado when the teams last played two weeks ago. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 5-1.
