Volleyball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers vs. Daniel Lions

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers will head out to square off against the Daniel Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Daniel took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Blue Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Blue Ridge will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Travelers Rest, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Fighting Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Devildogs on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Fighting Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

While Blue Ridge might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Travelers Rest scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Daniel faced Pickens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lions fell 3-1 to the Blue Flame. The Lions have struggled against the Blue Flame recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Pickens scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 24-26, 25-17, 25-18.

Daniel's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Blue Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-18-2.

Blue Ridge might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Daniel in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Fighting Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
