Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Greater New Bedford RVT

Greater New Bedford RVT had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Dartmouth Indians. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Indians last Tuesday, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Jack Anderson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has become a key player for Greater New Bedford RVT: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Anderson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Boston Bettencourt was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Illiam Santiago was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Greater New Bedford RVT's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Dartmouth, they moved to 12-5 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Greater New Bedford RVT does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dartmouth, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hingham at 4:30 p.m.
