After a string of five wins, South East's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Palisades Dolphins who were credited with the victory. The Palisades Dolphins got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the South East Jaguars' one. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Jaguars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Dolphins are ranked 272nd).

South East's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Palisades, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South East will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Legacy at 4:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Palisades, they will challenge Bell at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Palisades is facing Bell at the right time seeing as Bell is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
