Basketball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Comes Up Short

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 86-76 to the Nicollet Raiders. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Nicollet, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-12.

Coming up, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Ulm Cathedral at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. New Ulm Cathedral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season. As for Nicollet, they and Medford will face off at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
