Softball Recap: Whitmer Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitmer duked it out with Northview on Wednesday. The Panthers fell 10-6 to the Wildcats. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 9-6.

Raegan Lapoint was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Englehart, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Whitmer's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Northview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6-1.

Coincidentally, Whitmer and Northview will both be playing Anthony Wayne the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
