Pinecrest has gone 9-1 against Purnell Swett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pinecrest Patriots will head out to take on the Purnell Swett Rams at 7:45 p.m.

Pinecrest is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Southern Lee just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Purnell Swett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 62-56 victory over Gray's Creek on Friday.

Pinecrest better keep an eye on Collin Sampson. He was instrumental in Purnell Swett's win, going 8 for 20 on his way to 22 points and three steals. The game was Sampson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Clewis, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points.

Pinecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Purnell Swett, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Pinecrest strolled past Purnell Swett in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 67-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pinecrest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
