While Johnsburg didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-25), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Winnebago Indians by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Skyhawks, who have now won four matches in a row.

Ahston Stern was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Stern was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other pitching news, Peyton Mesce looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Dom Vallone, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayden Pinkowski, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Johnsburg pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Winnebago, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Johnsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Aurora Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Winnebago, they will challenge Dwight at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
