Basketball Recap: Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Christian Academy lost against Southeastern Christian Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Christian Academy Saints fell to the Southeastern Christian Academy Warriors 35-29. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Academy lost, don't look at Caitlin Fritz. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Fritz a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Lopes, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten steals.

Even though they lost, Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Southeastern Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Ella Gregory, who posted 23 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. Gregory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh St.George, who earned three points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Southeastern Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 35-10 loss against Pee Dee Academy on the 30th. Southeastern Christian Academy has also already played their next game, a 37-8 victory against Lowcountry Prep on the 30th.
