Basketball Recap: Woodruff Comes Up Short

Woodruff lost against Laurens back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wolverines fell 57-49 to the Raiders. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 8-4 in the first quarter.

Leading Laurens to victory were Q Quinton Watts and Z Zakarion Simpson. Watts dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten steals, while Simpson dropped a double-double with 14 points and 19 boards. Those ten steals gave Watts a new career-high.

Woodruff's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Laurens, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Woodruff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-68 win against Chesnee on the 5th. Hopefully Laurens paid attention to the Wolverines' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
