Volleyball Recap: Dobson Takes a Loss

If Dobson was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Browne on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Red Mountain Mountain Lions on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mountain Lions this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-14.

Red Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Sullivan, who had 15 digs and two aces. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lacy Dairman, who had seven digs and two aces.

Dobson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Red Mountain, their record is now 21-15.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Dobson will take on rival Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Red Mountain is set to square off against their familiar foe Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
