Baseball Recap: Fairfax Victorious

Fairfax won the last time they faced Vaughn and things went their way on Monday too. The Lions walked away with a 7-3 victory over the White Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Fairfax saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yeray Valdez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Valdez is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-15 when he doesn't).

Fairfax hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Fairfax's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Vaughn, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-12.

Looking ahead, Fairfax will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Hamilton at 3:00 p.m. As for Vaughn, they will face off against Triumph Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The White Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
