Recap: Perry Panthers vs. Jackson Polar Bears

The Perry Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Jackson at home by a decisive 71-54 margin. Perry has struggled against Jackson recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Nico Martelli and Luke Wolf certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Martelli scored 16 points, while Wolf scored 13 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Martelli scored 15 or more points. Preston Dazey was another key contributor, scoring four points.

Perry bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Jackson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Perry will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hoover at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Hoover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. Jackson's road trip will continue as they head out to face McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on January 9th.
