Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Omaha Westside, Lincoln East was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Elkhorn South Storm a 4-0 shutout. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Lincoln East's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Elkhorn South, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lincoln East and Elkhorn South should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. The Spartans will challenge Lincoln North Star on Friday with a big rank advantage (2 vs. 43). Meanwhile, Elkhorn South (ranked 14th) will meet Buena Vista (ranked 80th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
