Soccer Recap: United South Comes Up Short

The United South Panthers came up short against the Progreso Red Ants on Tuesday, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Red Ants are ranked sixth).

Emmanuel Flores and Jacob Hernandez scored both of United South's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

United South's loss dropped their record down to 5-3-2. As for Progreso, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

United South wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against Lake Travis on the 10th. Progreso has also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against IDEA Pharr on the 9th.
