Basketball Game Preview: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Batavia Bulldogs

The Rolling Meadows Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Batavia Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Thursday, Rolling Meadows blew past Wheeling, posting a 54-16 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Batavia posted their biggest win since December 23, 2024 on Thursday. They put the hurt on Glenbard North with a sharp 48-25 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rolling Meadows pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Batavia, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

Rolling Meadows beat Batavia 53-44 in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Will Rolling Meadows repeat their success, or does Batavia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
