Baseball Game Preview: Crawford Colts vs. Kearny Komets

For the second straight game, Crawford will face off against Kearny. The Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Komets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Crawford didn't have quite enough to beat Kearny and fell 9-8.

For Kearny's part, the team relied heavily on DJ Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Martinez has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolas Hembera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Kearny was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Kearny and bumps their season record up to 5-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Crawford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
