Volleyball Recap: Hickory Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Hickory Ridge was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Porter Ridge on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ragin' Bulls fell just short of the North Mecklenburg Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Hickory Ridge came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 13-25, 15-13.

Leading North Mecklenburg to victory were Alejandra Lorenzana and Scholar Bates. Lorenzana had 14 digs and seven assists, while Bates had 25 digs, 24 kills, and three aces. Bates has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 21 times she's played.

Hickory Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for North Mecklenburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Hickory Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Mecklenburg, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Marvin Ridge on the 23rd.
