Baseball Game Preview: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Culver Academies Eagles

The Morgan Township Cherokees will challenge the Culver Academies Eagles at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Morgan Township's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Portage on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Cherokees in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

Morgan Township saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clint Lemmons, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Culver Academies unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 6-1 to Bremen on Thursday.

Culver Academies also got a good showing from Jak Chaney, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Morgan Township's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Culver Academies, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
