Volleyball Recap: Cupertino Pioneers vs. Wilcox Chargers

While Cupertino didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Wilcox Chargers on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Pioneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

In the three sets Cupertino was on fire: they won each by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 17-25, 25-14, 25-13.

Sienna Spencer and Allison Breslin certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Spencer had 19 digs and four aces, while Breslin had 11 digs. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Cupertino has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Wilcox, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.

Cupertino will head out on the road to face off against Ann Sobrato at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
