Softball Recap: Lincoln Lynx vs. Eastside Catholic Crusaders

Lincoln had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it four. They fell just short of the Eastside Catholic Crusaders by a score of 4-3. The Lynx were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 14-4.

Ruby Hughes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Brienna Minton and Nash Cochran did some serious damage despite the final result: Minton went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Cochran went 1-for-4 with one home run. Coming up, Lincoln will square off against Seattle Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastside Catholic, they will face off against Newport - Bellevue at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
