Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Trojans vs. Indian Valley Braves
The Tuscarawas Valley Trojans lost against the Indian Valley Braves back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Tuscarawas Valley fell 54-44 to Indian Valley. While losing is never fun, Tuscarawas Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Indian Valley is ranked 101st).
Tuscarawas Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being John Leffler, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Cole Kuykendall, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Tuscarawas Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Indian Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Tuscarawas Valley will head out on the road to face off against Ridgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tuscarawas Valley is facing Ridgewood at the right time seeing as Ridgewood is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Indian Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hiland at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Hiland's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
