Basketball Recap: Patriot Prep Academy Piles Up the Points Against Cristo Rey

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wellington School, Patriot Prep Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They claimed a resounding 69-35 victory over the Cristo Rey Cougar. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Patriot Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Thomas, who posted 19 points along with eight boards and five steals. Thomas' evening made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Narkuor Tetteh-Odonkor, who put up eight points and seven steals.

The win snapped Patriot Prep Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record. As for Cristo Rey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Patriot Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hilliard Darby at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cristo Rey, they will welcome Columbus Torah Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
