Basketball Recap: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Comes Up Short

If Macon-East Montgomery Academy was riding high fresh off their 57-31 takedown of Escambia Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights took a blow against the Hooper Academy Colts on Friday, falling 54-23. The Knights were red-hot offensively headed into the matchup (they scored no less than 55 points in the three games prior) but the Colts' defense proved too tough.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addie Longcrier, who posted ten points and three steals.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Hooper Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will welcome Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hooper Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Evangel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
