Basketball Game Preview: Progreso Red Ants vs. Raymondville Bearkats

Progreso hasn't had much luck against Raymondville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Progreso Red Ants will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raymondville Bearkats at 7:00 p.m.

Progreso is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Santa Rosa, falling 46-20. The Red Ants were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raymondville). They breezed by IDEA Frontier College Prep to the tune of 79-5 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Bearkats who have now won five matchups in a row.

Progreso's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Raymondville, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Progreso took a serious blow against Raymondville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 51-23. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Raymondville's Adaleigh Knight, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 15 boards.
