Volleyball Recap: Delavan-Darien Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Delavan-Darien won the last time they faced Beloit Memorial and things went their way on Saturday too. The Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Purple Knights.

Delavan-Darien got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lacey Duckworth out in front who had eight aces and five digs. Those eight aces gave Duckworth a new career-high. Delaney Stallings was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Delavan-Darien was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Delavan-Darien is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Beloit Memorial, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Delavan-Darien wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Turner on the 11th. As for Beloit Memorial, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Big Foot on the 11th.
