Basketball Recap: North Marion Colts vs. Newberry Panthers
North Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 68-46 to the Newberry Panthers.
Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JERMEA JACKSON, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. JAMEYA BROWN was another key player, putting up 13 points.
Leading Newberry to victory were Brandy Whitfield and Sarah Beaulieu. Whitfield went 9 of 20 on her way to 30 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Beaulieu went 8 of 16 on her way to 23 points and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Whitfield has scored at least a third of Newberry's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anesty Debose, who posted four points and six rebounds.
