Basketball Game Preview: Mitchell Mustangs vs. Loganville Christian Academy Lions

The Mitchell Mustangs and the Loganville Christian Academy Lions will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Loganville Christian Academy is hoping to do what Northside Christian couldn't on Friday: put an end to Mitchell's winning streak, which now stands at seven games. Mitchell blew past Northside Christian 41-21. Given Mitchell's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Northside Christian is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Haley Malik, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Priya Jacob, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Loganville Christian Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Brookstone 62-16.

Mitchell's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.5 points. As for Loganville Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
